that uses two lasers instead of one (the earlier version of this procedure uses only one laser). How it’s done? First, the unique characteristics of the individual’s eyes are mapped using wave-front technology. Then, a corneal flap is created by an ultra-fast, computer-guided laser. This procedure is exceptionally safer than the earlier forms of LASIK which uses a hand-held microkeratome blade. The wave-front mapping data guides a second laser for vision correction after the flap is created. The combination of these advanced laser technologies creates a custom-fit procedure clinically proven to provide excellent safety and visual results.
iLASIK showed notable results in the 100 naval aviators who undergone the procedure, 95% achieved 20/20 uncorrected vision or better. All of those who undergone the procedure also recommend the surgery to other naval aviators.
