Have you noticed changes in your browser settings even if you can’t remember changing them yourself? Do annoying commercials appear too often while you browse? When did these abnormal things start making themselves known? was it after you downloaded and installed Green Antivirus 2009? If you have downloaded and installed Green Antivirus 2009, I am sure that by now you are already experiencing the symptoms I have mentioned above. Green Antivirus 2009 or Green AV is a rouge anti-spyware that does the very opposite of what a normal antivirus does. Instead of cleaning your system, it infects it. Green AV is a malware that can hide in the background and could connect to the internet without your permission. The extent of what it can do is not exactly known, but the possibility of it compromising your online security is of course very high.
If your system is infected with Green AV, don’t worry too much because it can be removed using the Green AV remove process I have found (from SoftSailor.com). Here is the steps on how to remove Green Antivirus 2009 :
Stop the process
Press the Start + R keys, then type “taskmgr” and press Enter. Find GreenAV2009.exe and gav.exe, select them and press “End Process”.
Delete the registry entry
Press Start + R, then type “regedit” and press Enter. Locate this registry entry “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstallGreen Antivirus 2009″ and delete it. Be careful not to delete other entries by mistake because it may cause your computer to stop working.
Delete the Green Antivirus 2009 files
Find and delete the following files: greenav2009.exe, install.exe, gav.exe.
